This was the first joint event involving scholarship holders from both universities and students supported by ARAG SE and the Dr Paul-Otto Faßbender Foundation (Dr. Paul-Otto Faßbender Stiftung für Bildung und Wissenschaft). ARAG SE and the Foundation are supporting a total of 42 students from a wide range of subjects this year, with 24 of the students attending our get-together on 21 March 2023.

“Equal access is the founding principle of ARAG. The German National Scholarship offers an excellent opportunity to establish contacts with high-performing, dedicated students and provide them with financial and non-material support – and thus express our social commitment. However, it is all the more important to give the scholarship holders the opportunity to get to know ARAG better – and that is why we have organised a get-together like this,” comments Dr Shiva Meyer.

We spent half a day introducing ARAG as a company and as an employer, taking a look behind the scenes at the ARAG Tower with the students and answering their questions over a light lunch.

“I found the insights into the corporate structure at ARAG and the processes in such an internationally active group incredibly enriching.” This was just one of the many comments we received as feedback on our event – so it looks like we can say it was a great success!

Kathrin Köhler also views the get-together as a great success: “We see the incredible commitment our scholarship holders demonstrate during their time at university, whether in their voluntary work in various bodies or their wide-ranging, personal social commitments. For the students, the German National Scholarship can be seen as a form of appreciation, but also as motivation to give something back to the community. This social commitment of our scholarship holders also reflects our corporate principles, the ARAG Essentials, and advances our values of openness, discipline, foresight, fairness and drive. This is a truly sustainable contribution to society.”
